Dutch photographer Iwan Baan gives life to the world’s most impressive contemporary architecture through pictures that depict the narrative of humanity’s role and impact on the world.
Architects such as Rem Koolhaas, Herzog & de Meuron, Zaha Hadid, Diller Scofidio & Renfro, Toyo Ito, SANAA and Morphosis collaborate with Baan to give their work a sense of place as the primary documentation of their buildings and environments in use.
Baan’s photographs are the focus of several critical book projects including 52 Weeks 52 Cities, Torre David: Informal Vertical Communities, Brasilia & Chandigarh – Living With Modernity, and the recent Two Sides of The Border: Reimagining the Region in collaboration with Pedro Reyes, Tatiana Bilbao, and Yale University.
