For Friedman Benda’s participation at PAD London 2026, the gallery is pleased to present a group installation of works by designers across generations and disciplines.
Seminal Italian designer and architect Andrea Branzi’s (1938-2023) signature Lamp series will be shown concurrently with his retrospective, Andrea Branzi by Toyo Ito: Continuous Present at Triennale di Milano.
Acclaimed Swiss-born artist Carmen D’Apollonio (b. 1973) will present two unique sculptural lamps.
One of the most prominent voices working in ceramics today, South African artist Andile Dyalvane (b. 1978) will present a monumental ceramic work from his OoNomathotholo series, works from which were part of the Mirror Mirror exhibition at Chatsworth House in 2023.
Combining natural stones with cast bronze, New York-based Misha Kahn (b. 1989) unveils two new works from his acclaimed Rock series, alongside The Slippery Feel of Inevitability, a large mohair tapestry handwoven by Stephens Tapestry, featured in The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Paris-based Japanese artist Kaori Kurihara (b. 1987) will debut her collaboration with the gallery, presenting three sculptural ceramic works concurrent with her participation in The Only True Protest is Beauty, Fondazione Dries Van Noten’s first exhibition at Palazzo Pisani Moretta in Venice.
Alongside works from his celebrated Acrostic series, Paris-based designer Raphael Navot (b. 1977) will premiere his Dolmen Club Chairs and the large-scale Waterfall Library. Together, the works embody a dialogue between craftsmanship and sculptural design, rooted in a classical exploration of beauty and comfort.
Prominent American artist Adam Pendleton (b. 1984) will present a new sculptural table in onyx, marking the UK debut of his work with the gallery, concurrent with his exhibition opening at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
British designer Samuel Ross (b. 1991) presents Amnesia or platelet apparition?, a sculptural bench contrasting white marble with his signature Safety Orange-lacquered steel. The work will be shown in the UK for only the second time, following its inclusion in Chatsworth House’s Mirror Mirror exhibition in 2023 and in anticipation of Ross’ participation in the upcoming exhibition The Nue Black Aesthetic, opening in November at the Design Museum London.
Newly awarded an MBE, British designer Faye Toogood (b. 1977) will present Cairn, a chair sculpted from oak from her Assemblage 7: Lost and Found II. This body of work is deeply rooted in her exploration of the excellence and history of British craftsmanship and material landscape.
Represented with two vessels, Brooklyn-based artist Thaddeus Wolfe (b. 1979) has established himself within the realm of contemporary glassmaking through his unique approach to sculpting glass.
The booth also presents a vignette that explores architectural dialogues in design by bringing together significant historic works and contemporary perspectives. Italian architect Carlo Mollino’s (1905-1973) Writing Desk from Casa Editrice Lattes (1951) presented alongside a pair of Chairs from Casa del Sole (1954). Rare drawings from the visionary American architect Lebbeus Woods’ (1940-2011) 1985 Epicyclarium series, a prescient body of work illustrating how the integration of data can drive the direction of the built environment; Robo Lamp by contemporary Italian design-duo Formafantasma (est. 2009), a light that exemplifies the studio’s reflection on the essence of the domestic sphere and its archetypes.
