Friedman Benda presents Illusions to the Garden at FOG Design + Art 2017. In silver, aluminum, ceramic, ash, ipê, basalt and sheep-fur, designers from four continents invite a wildly disparate discussion of exterior vs. interior space.
Highlights to include: High Hopes, a 3-meter flowering tree by Wendell Castle; a rough-hewn basalt bench by Byung Hoon Choi; the first showing of Faye Toogood’s Spoon loungers; Chris Schanck’s verdant Shell Chairs; contemplative ceramics by LA-based Adam Silverman next to functional ceramics by Capetown master Andile Dyalvane; a Plank bookcase by design icon Andrea Branzi and a commissioned Richard Woods Birch tree environment, frame the whole and suggest a surreal perspective.
