Italian architect and designer Ettore Sottsass is known as the founder in the early 1980s of Memphis, the Milan-based design collaborative that became a key part of Postmodernism. Sottsass has pursued a remarkable career - spanning more than sixty-five years - as a pioneer of worldwide significance in all the major fields of design, including furniture, ceramics & glass, jewelry, architecture & industrial design.
