Taking place from from September 24th until October 2nd, GrensWerk is the art-festival of the Eastern region of the Netherlands. It provides a week long cultural exploration, bringing to light what the twelve cultural partners of Enschede have to offer.
This year, the festival is titled 'It's a big planet, but a small world'. The programme revolves around issues as how we look at and see the outside world, how we explore it, how technology facilitates for certain relationships, how relationships are maintained, and how we live together with our neighbours.
The entire programme is build around the title and consists of a multitude of concerts, performances, exhibitions and projects. One example is a theatre production based on a book of Haruki Murakami.
New to the festival will be a unique pavilion, creating a striking festival ground in the inner city. Besides using this terrain, exhibitions will also be featured at the Rijksmuseum Twenthe, the Twentse Welle and other locations throughout the city.
