The Habitarte residential building was constructed by Stan company in the heart of the Brooklyn neighborhood in Sao Paulo. It consists of two towers that connect to each other through the basement and the roof. In between there is a large gap where, for their second partnership with Stan and their first landmark project in Brazil, the Campana brothers conceived a 50-meter high urban sculpture made out of petals in movement, in steel and aluminum. One of these petals appears to have ‘fallen off’ the sculpture and floated down into the landscape below designed by Luiz Carlos Orsini. ‘We were inspired by the leaves of the trees in Cerrado, a vast tropical savanna ecoregion of Brazil’ explain Fernando and Humberto when asked about their inspirations.
