The Design Museum is telling the story of Designing Modern Britain by illustrating the impact of design on our lives. Design is a field in which Britain excels, and many of the world’s most influential designers work here. Featuring Harry Beck's 1931 diagrammatic map of the London Underground, and the first Mini and Morris-Minor to come off the production line, this exhibition explores how design has modernised Britain in the last century and shaped our lives today. From the modernist pioneers of the 1930s, to the ambitious plans for the London 2012 Olympics, this exhibition explores design’s impact on British daily life.
